New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson has announced his retirement from Twenty20 internationals, the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) has confirmed.
Williamson has played 93 Twenty20 matches for New Zealand, scoring 2,575 runs.
Williamson made his Twenty20 International debut in 2011. He also captained the team in 75 matches.

According to New Zealand Cricket, Williamson said about his retirement, “This is the time to step away from the shorter format.”
He had previously said, “I have wanted to be a part of this for a long time. I am very grateful for these memories and experiences. This is the right time for me and the team. "My decision will give the team clarity ahead of the upcoming series and the previous target, the Twenty20 World Cup."
He also praised the current captain, Mitchell Santner. He said, "Mitch is a fantastic captain and leader. He has done a really good job with this team."
