A special jersey for the upcoming Nepathya concert organized by Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise team Pokhara Avengers has sold out in 13 hours.
The team had announced that it would give away jerseys to the first 1,000 supporters for Rs 999 for a concert to be held at the Pokhara Rangsala Football Stadium on November 7 (Friday) with the slogan ‘Nepathya for Cricket’. Pokhara Avengers has stated that all the jerseys have been sold from 6 pm on Thursday to 7 am on Friday.
‘We are excited by the love and enthusiasm for Pokhara Avengers and Nepathya,’ said Pokhara Avengers President Subodh Tripathi, ‘Selling 1,000 jerseys in 13 hours is a matter of pride for both Pokhara cricket supporters and music lovers. We are happy to collaborate with the legendary band Nepathya in the development of cricket.’
There will be no ticket for entry to the concert. Only supporters who have purchased Pokhara Avengers jerseys can attend the concert.
The Avengers have stated that the money raised from the jersey sales will be used to distribute cricket kits to community schools in Gandaki. The trophy tour of the second edition of the NPL, which will start from Mangsir 1, is underway.
While presenting the trophy in Pokhara on Tuesday, Nepathya's lead singer Amrit Gurung recalled that Pokhara had no infrastructure for sports 50 years ago and said that the stadium built in Pokhara has added energy to players and sports fans. "The level at which Nepal's cricket is at is something to be proud of. The next preparations and games should be with the goal of winning the World Cup. We wish you all the best," he said.
