Nepal registered a comfortable 2-1 win over India in the Three Nations Cup on Monday. Sabitra Bhandari was the hero of the Nepali women's national team's victory at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, scoring both goals.

With this, Nepal's recent dominance over India in women's international football continued. This victory over India, which has qualified for the Asia Cup, will keep Nepali football excited.

India has not been able to defeat Nepal since 2019. This is only Nepal's fourth victory over India. Savitra opened the scoring in the second minute of the game, taking advantage of a long pass from Bimala Bik. Her second goal came in the 62nd minute, and she made beautiful use of a free-kick for this.

Savitra's shot from more than 20 yards was converted into a goal without giving any chance to the human wall of four Indian players. Karishma Purushottam scored a goal for India in the 82nd minute.

This is Savitra's 68th goal in 59 matches for Nepal. Her personal goal tally against India alone has reached 10. With this victory, Nepal has ended the three-team tournament happily. Nepal has three points from two matches, while India remains at the bottom with zero points. Iran has already won both matches and won the title.
