Martial arts player Bhupendra Gurung has won three medals at the World Open Martial Arts Championship. Bhupendra won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in three different events at the competition held in Boston, USA on October 26.
Bhupendra won gold in Tai Chi Chuan Open Hand and Chan Chuan in the competition organized by the World Fighting Martial Arts Federation. He won gold by scoring 9.5 points in Tai Chi Chuan and 9.033 points in Chan Chuan. Bhupendra, who won silver in Tai Chi Chuan Short Weapon, scored 9.2 points. The total score for all three events was 10.
Earlier, he had competed in three competitions held in different cities in the US. Bhupendra won 3 gold and 3 silver medals in those competitions.
Bhupendra has also won medals in various competitions in Germany, the UK and Thailand. He has served as a judge in various national and international competitions. Bhupendra is also the vice-president of Nepal Uma Kung Fu Association.
