Defending champions Liverpool suffered their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat on Saturday as they were beaten 3-2 by Brentford. Goals from Dangote Kwadwo, Kevin De Bruyne and Igor Thiago gave the London club a 3-0 lead.

The win lifted Brentford to 10th place. Liverpool dropped to sixth, four points behind leaders Arsenal. Goals from Milos Kerkez and Mohamed Salah for Liverpool.

Liverpool have lost six of their last seven games in all competitions.

Elsewhere, Manchester United returned to form with a 4-2 win over Brighton. Brian Mbumo scored twice as United secured their third consecutive Premier League win. Newcastle United beat Fulham and Sunderland beat Chelsea 2-1.
