Former Australia U-19 cricket team captain William Bosisto will play Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket for Karnali Yaks this year as well. Karnali Yaks Sports Pvt. Ltd. announced on Friday that he has been signed. The second season of the NPL is starting from Mangsir 1.
Karnali Yaks Director Grihendra Ghimire informed that Bosisto has been signed. Last year too, Bosisto played for Karnali and played an important role in bringing the team to third place. He was signed to the team after Karnali played the first two matches. Karnali had caught up with the high rhythm after Bosisto's arrival.
Director Ghimire said that Bosisto's experience in the first edition will be beneficial in the second edition. In the series, the 32-year-old Bosisto scored 194 runs with two half-centuries in 7 matches and took 9 wickets.
'After the expected performance in the first edition, both sides agreed to continue in the second edition,' said Director Ghimire, 'We are confident that the second edition will be even better.'
Bosisto is the second foreign player to be signed by Karnali Yaks. The team has already signed Scottish spinner Mark Watt. Basisto was the captain of the Australian team when they finished runners-up in the 2012 U-19 World Cup. He was the Player of the Tournament in that tournament, scoring 276 runs in 6 matches.
Director Ghimire has informed that other foreign players will also be announced soon. Karnali has stated that the talent hunt will be held on November 5. Karnali has continued Gyanendra Malla as the coach in the second edition. Raju Basnet is the consultant coach of the team.
