Chandannath 3 and Foikalika FC win

Abhishek Budthapa of Chandannath 3 was declared the Man of the Match in the first match of the district-level football tournament that began today in Jumla. Dharma Pariyar of Foikali FC was declared the Man of the Match in the second match.

A district-level football tournament has begun in Jumla on the occasion of Tihar and Chhath festivals. The tournament, organized by Chandannath Municipality-3, has 44 teams participating.

In the first match of the first day, the team of Chandannath 3 won the match between Dhanthapala Youth Club and Chandannath 3. Chandannath 3 defeated Dhanthapala Youth Club by four goals.

In the second match, Foikalika FC Youth Club of Guthichaur Rural Municipality won. In which Foikalika scored 5 goals while Siddhagufa could not open an account. According to the tournament coordinator Raj Bahadur Khatri, the mayor of Chandannath Municipality, Rajusingh Kathayat inaugurated the football tournament.

In the first match, Abhishek Budthapa of Chandannath 3 was declared the man of the match. In the second match, Dharma Pariyar of Foikalika FC was declared the man of the match, according to the coordinator Khatri.

According to Ward Chairman Ratan Khatri, the competition has been organized to strengthen the bond, unity and spirit of celebration among youth through sports. According to Coordinator Raj Bahadur Khatri, the winning team will be awarded Rs 101,000 and the runner-up team Rs 50,500 along with medals and trophies. The competition will be held till Kartik 16.

He said that the craze for football has increased among the youth in recent times. He said, ‘Nowadays, the attraction of youth in football has increased.’ Which increases the possibility of producing national-level football players in Jumla.’

‘The youth have a passion for football, but there is no opportunity to perform in the game,’ Ward Chairman Khatri said, ‘This is not just a football competition but an opportunity for players to perform in the game.’

Players from Guthichaur and Tatopani rural municipalities of the district have also participated in the competition. He expressed his commitment to conduct the game in a peaceful, dignified, and disciplined manner.  Spectators have been flocking to watch football.
