Nepali athletes and officials who won medals at the 8th Jawin Malaysia Open Taekwondo Competition held in Malaysia have been honored.
Nepalese Taekwondo Academy in Danchi, Kathmandu honored players and officials on Saturday. On behalf of the academy, Dr. Ramesh Dhakal, Medical Director of Shankarapur Hospital, presented the honors to the players and officials.
The players to be honored are gold medalists Kenish Khadka, Govinda Yonjan Tamang and Ayush Bohara, and silver medalist Sandeep Basnet. Team coach Shree Krishna Khadka, manager Ganesh Bahadur Khadka and team chief Mahendra Raj Ghimire were also honored.
Nepalese players and officials were honored as an encouragement, said Ashok Khadka, president and chief coach of Nepalese Taekwondo Academy.
Ashok also participated in the competition held in Malaysia as a judge. He was declared the best judge of the competition.
