Lumbini Lions signed Australian batter Darcy Short on Thursday for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The short-handed batsman has played eight ODIs and twenty Twenty20 Internationals for Australia. He has scored one ODI and four T20I half-centuries. The Lions are excited to sign Darcy, who has represented Australia, to the team, the Lions said in a statement. He has a strike rate of 118 in T20Is and over 130 in all formats of T20Is. He also bowls spin. Under the leadership of Nepali national team captain Rohit Poudel, the Lions will play in the second edition of the NPL starting from Mangsir 1. Darcy has experience playing in world-class leagues such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Big Bash League. He played for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL in 2018. Lumbini expects the arrival of the 35-year-old to further strengthen the team's batting line.
