Nepal won a sensational 1-run victory over UAE on Sunday in the Super Six of the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia-East Asia Pacific Qualifiers. After this victory over UAE, which is considered as a contender, Nepal has come close to the Twenty-20 World Cup.

After winning the toss and opting to bat in the tournament being held in Muscat, Oman, Asif Sheikh scored 51 runs in 47 balls, losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs, and could score only 140 runs.

When UAE needed 10 runs for victory in the last over, Dipendrasingh Airi gave only 8 runs, while Nepal took 3 wickets in Sokram and achieved a dramatic victory. Due to this, UAE lost 9 wickets and scored only 139 runs.

Dipendra gave only 1 run in the first two balls of the last over. But Dhruv Parasar hit a six on the third ball. After that, Nepal took three consecutive wickets. In the fourth ball, Dipendra caught Parasar on the boundary line. In the fifth ball, Sandeep Zora ran out Haider Ali. In the sixth and last ball, UAE needed 3 runs for victory. But Junaid Siddiqui scored 2 runs after being run out by Rohit Poudel's throw and Nepal won.

Nepal and Oman have the same 4 points in Super Six. 

Nepal will play against Qatar on Monday and if they win, their place in the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka in February-March will be almost certain.
