Rising Star and King's Cricket Academy made a winning start in the Rising Star U-14 Boys Cricket Tournament on Saturday. Rising Star defeated Alpine School by 151 runs and Kings defeated Oasis 'B' by 10 wickets.
In the first match, Rising Star won the toss and scored 204 runs after losing 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. From the team, Rayos Khatri scored 69 off 67 balls with 12 fours, Prateek Agarwal scored 44 off 31 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes and Rishav Amatya scored 27 runs off 43 balls with 2 fours. Alpine's Pradeep Basnet, Neeraj Khatiwada and Asim Khatri took 1 wicket each. In reply, Alpine was bowled out for 53 runs in 13.3 overs. Apart from Asim Khatri scoring 12 runs, others could not score double. Rising Star's Anand Agarwal, Satyam Thakur and Rishab took 2 wickets each. Rayos was selected as the player of the match.
In the second match, Oasis was bowled out for 29 runs after playing 12 overs. Anurag Khatiwada scored 8 runs and Samyam Acharya scored 5 runs. King's player of the match Ekendra Budha took 3 wickets and Anshuman Thapamgar and Arush Chalise took 2 wickets each. After Anshuman scored 10 runs and Santamu Basnet scored 9 unbeaten runs, Kings completed the target in 9 balls.
