Despite not looking sharp in batting, Nepal has made a winning start in the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia-East Asia Pacific qualifiers. Nepal defeated Kuwait by 58 runs in the tournament that started on Wednesday in Oman.

Kuwait, who entered the field with a target of 142 runs at the All Emirates Cricket Ground in Muscat, were bowled out for 83 runs in 18.1 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel, Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajvanshi took 2 wickets each from Nepal. Rohit spent 9 in 2 overs, Lalit 17 in 4 overs and Sandeep spent 22 runs keeping 1 maiden in 4 overs . Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav and Kushal Bhurtel took 1 wicket each.

opener Clintou Anto scored the highest 26 runs from Kuwait. Dipendrasinh Airi, who hit 2 sixes in 23 balls, gave him a clean run out on his own bowling. Sompal got Nepal off to a good start by dismissing another opener, Ravija Sandaruwan, in the first over.

Even though Kushal Bhurtel scored a half-century earlier, Nepal made a struggling score in the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia-East Asia Pacific qualifiers. After losing the toss, Nepal was invited to bat and scored 141 runs after losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

After Asif Sheikh got out for only 2 runs, another opener Bhurtel scored 66 runs with 3 fours and a six in 56 balls. He got out on the fifth ball of the last over. Rohit played 15 balls with 3 fours, 16, Kushal Malla 4, Sandeep Zora got out for 5 runs . Nepal's winning start with excellent bowling

Dipendra scored 20 runs in 19 balls with 1 six. After Gulshan Jha hit three consecutive sixes in the 19th over, Nepal's score improved. Gulshan scored 20 runs in just 6 balls. Sompal 1 and Nandan remained unbeaten in 2 runs. Navinraj Rajendran and Anudeep Chenthamra of Kuwait took 2 wickets each.

Japan is in Group B along with Nepal and Kuwait. The top two teams of the group will reach the Super Six.
