The Nepali women's cricket team has won the five-match Twenty20 international series against Malaysia by 3-2. Nepal captured the series after defeating Malaysia by 5 wickets in the fifth Twenty20 international on Wednesday.

 

On the previous day, Nepal tied the series 2-2 by winning the fourth match by 6 wickets. In 2023, Nepal also won the series of Twenty20 international matches played in Malaysia by 3-2 . Nepal previously won the series with Qatar 3-0 in 2022. Malaysia, who won the

toss and batted, scored 7  He scored 103 runs without losing a wicket. Captain Winifred Duraisingham scored the highest 40 runs. She played 46 balls and hit 5 fours . Mahirah scored 19 with 1 four off 18 balls and Aina Hamijah Hasim scored 15 runs off 19 balls with 2 fours. 

Kavita Kunwar took 3 wickets from Nepal. She took all three wickets in the last over. In Sokram, she spent 16 runs in a total of 4 overs . Rajmati Airi spent 15 runs in 3 overs and Rachna Chaudhary took 1 wicket in 3 overs spending 16 runs. Hasim and Duraisingham added 38 runs in 6 overs to give Malaysia a great start. In the seventh over, Rachna Chaudhary was bowled and gave Nepal its first success.

Then Nepal bowled hard. In the 14th over, Rajmati dismissed Noor Izatul and Mas Ilisa on consecutive balls, and Nepal took control of the game. After player of the match Rajmati dismissed Duraisingham in the 16th over, Nepal dominated the match. 

Nepal completed the target in 18 overs. Vice-captain Pooja Mahato scored 23 runs by hitting 1 four off 24 balls. When Nepal needed 2 runs for victory, she was bowled by Noor Alla . Former captain Rubina Chhetri remained unbeaten on 15 balls with 1 boundary and Kavita Joshi on 1 run . 

Khadka played 10 balls 13 with 1 four, Ruby Podar 26 with 2 fours in 25 balls, Kavita Kunwar 14 with 1 four in 19 balls, Indu Burma got out with 8 runs in 13 balls  . Alla, Mahirah and Hashim took 1 wicket each from Malaysia.

Oman and UAE win  

In other matches of the first day, hosts Oman and contenders UAE won. Oman beat Samoa by 5 wickets and UAE beat Qatar by 7 wickets. Samoa, including former New Zealand captain Ross Taylor, batting first lost 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and scored only 92 runs. Taylor scored only 22 runs off 28 balls with 1 boundary. Ferretti Suluto also scored 22 runs. He hit 2 fours and 1 six off 16 balls. Oman's Shah Faizal, Mohammad Nadeem and Hasnain Shah took 2 wickets each.

In response, Oman scored 96 runs in 17 overs. Nadeem played 22 balls and remained unbeaten on 21 runs with 2 fours. Hamad Mirza scored 18 off 28 balls and opener Ashish Odedara scored 15 runs. Saumani TIE of Samoa took 2 wickets.

In the next match, UAE was desperate to reach the target of 119 runs. After Alison Sarafu played an unbeaten innings of 51 and Harshit Kaushik scored 37 runs, UAE completed the target before 9 balls. When UAE made 47 runs in 11 overs and lost 3 wickets, these two rescued the team. Sarafu hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in 42 balls and Kaushik hit 3 sixes in 30 balls.

Earlier, Qatar scored 118 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Captain Mirza Baig scored 30 from 29 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes from Qatar, who lost 5 wickets while scoring 57 runs, Sahazaib Jamil scored 20 from 17 balls with 2 sixes and Mohammad Ikramullah scored 17 runs from 21 balls with 2 fours. Mohammad Rohid and Zahid Ali of UAE took 2 wickets each.
