The first Laligurans Cup National U-19 National Football Tournament has started from Sunday in Rampur, Palpa. The organizer Laligurans Association (Red) has won the first competition at Materi in Rampur.
Laligurans (Red) defeated Youth Union, Nawalpur by 1-0 in the match played at the Bigotar Stadium in Rampur. Sojit Roochal scored the decisive goal for Laligurans. Pranil Hamal of LG has been declared the player of the match.
Chairman of Rampur City Sports Development Committee Kamal Sen, Chairman of the organizing club Madhusudan Pokharel while inaugurating the competition said that Rampur will make an identity in the field of sports. He said that Pokharel is going to conduct a competition to encourage new talent.
U-19 'Laligurans Cup' is played on the basis of seven 'A' sides. 18 groups have participated in the competition. The competition will be conducted till 25th and the first place winner will get 2 lakh cash, trophy, certificate and medal. Game coordinator Adesh Rana said that 15 groups from different districts including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Chitwan, Makwanpur and three groups from Rampur city area through the organizing team participated in the
competition. In the
competition, the runner-up will get a shield, medal and certificate along with 1 lakh rupees in cash. According to the organizer, the group that reaches the semi-finals will be given 25,000 rupees in cash and a trophy. In the
competition, the best players, defense, goalkeeper, forward, midfielder, local players, coaches and other categories will be honored with cash, trophies and certificates. Youth Union Materi is the co-organizer of the competition in Materi Bolotar of Rampur, Rampur Municipality is the sponsor and Laligurans Association Nepal, ANFA, Mardikhola United and Rampur Jesus are the partners. Youth Union Materi president Kamal Rana said.
President of Rampur Nagar Sports Development Committee Kamal Sen said that the football tournament will encourage new players and help in the production of players. There will be four matches on Monday under the competition.
