The fifth central session of the Nepal Taekwondo Association held in Chitwan on Sunday unanimously elected Deepraj Gurung as the new president. He was in charge of the chief minister in the last three terms. This is the first time that he is the president of the Taekwondo Association.

"There is a plan to further advance the success that taekwondo has achieved in national and international competitions recently," Gurung has responded since being elected president, "we will also organize the association more ." Our focus will be on them and we will bring various programs for this.'

In Nepali sports history, Taekwondo has been one of the most successful sports on the international stage. But in the situation of not winning an international medal recently, it will be a challenge for the new working committee to bring back the old reputation and maintain Taekwondo as a mainstream sport .
