Nepal Budokaido Full Contact Karate Association honored the players who won medals in various international competitions on Saturday.

They were honored at a program organized at the Semi Covered Hall of the National Sports Council in Tripureshwar on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, Shubh Diwali, Nepal Samvat and Chhath festival. Most of the honorees are full contact karate players.

Honorees include Sagar Bista, Babita Karki, Rocha Bharti, Pooja Khadka and Sudarshan Khatiwada, medal winners of the World Budo Martial Arts Championship held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Bavita, Rochak and Pooja won gold in kickboxing and full contact categories, Sagar won gold in kickboxing, silver in full contact and Sudarshan won gold in kickboxing and silver in full contact.

Karuna Raut Chhetri, who played the role of judge in the same competition, was also honored. Sunny Singh, who won gold for Nepal in the open weight group of South Asian full contact karate held in Sri Lanka, Dawa Sherpa who won bronze in the single kata of Tezuka Cup full contact karate held in Japan and Kedarman Sethal who won gold in the over 50 age group at the 12th World Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press held in Thailand were also honored.

The newly elected president of Nepal Full Contact Karate Federation Surya Bahadur Budhathoki was also honored. They were honored by President of Nepal Kyokushin Karate Do Association (Vajra) Jagat Prasad Gauchan, Member of National Sports Council Jagatsingh Dhami and President of Nepal Budokaido Full Contact Karate Association Birkrishna Maharjan.

Maharjan, president of Budokaido, informed that after Tihar, the Federation will hold the President's Cup full contact karate competition with an attractive prize money.

Federation President Budhathoki has promised that the Federation will take initiatives to include full contact karate in the Presidential Running Shield.
