It is believed that after playing three Twenty20 international series with West Indies in Sharjah, Nepali cricket will take more height. One of the reasons for this is that the series with the West Indies is the first bilateral series that Nepal is going to play against a Test recognized nation.

Pakistan 'A' visited Nepal in 2008, Zimbabwe 'A' in 2022 and West Indies 'A' last year. However, the three Twenty20 international series against the West Indies starting on Saturday is the first for Nepal to play against the national team of the entire nation.

The three matches of 50 overs against Pakistan 'A' was the biggest series played by Nepal before. Many of the then Pakistan 'A' team players represented the national team. It is believed that this series will help the Nepali team to grow. Paras Khadka captained the Nepali team for the first time in the last match against Pakistan 'A' and Nepal  was victorious.

After that, Paras did not stop and Nepali cricket also continued to advance. Because of this, Nepal has now reached the stage of playing against a Test recognized nation. This series with West Indies is sure to give Nepal a big boost when they play against the top 12 nations of the ICC in the coming days.

Nepali players' performance in bilateral series has become more sophisticated. Immediately after playing against the West Indies, Nepal will go to Oman to play the Qualifiers for the Twenty20 World Cup. That's why the Shar Jahan series will be more important for Nepal.

Nepal has played Pakistan and India in the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh in the Twenty-20 World Cup last year and before that Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, West Indies, Ireland in the ACC and ICC competitions. However, this series with West Indies is more important for Nepal as it improves its weaknesses by playing continuously in the series.

All the bilateral series played by Nepal in Twenty20 internationals are in foreign lands. This time too, Nepal is playing against West Indies in Sharjah, UAE. But Nepal is the host of this series. Some of the effects of the bilateral series that Nepal has played before are as follows:

Sompal's world record

With the 2014 Twenty20 World Cup, Nepal got international Twenty20 recognition. However, only 8 months after playing the Twenty20 World Cup, Nepal got to play another Twenty20 International. That too after the management of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The ACC organized a four-match Twenty20 International series between Nepal and Hong Kong in Sri Lanka in November 2014. But the first bilateral series of Nepal was canceled due to rain.

history was made in the fourth and final game. After losing the toss, Nepal came into bat and were bowled out for 72 runs after playing 20 overs. Batting in the lower order, Sompal Kami scored 40 runs. Batting at number 10, this was the highest score in a Twenty20 international. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes while playing 31 balls. Apart from Sompal, no other Nepalese player could hit a boundary. No other player could reach the score of 6 runs. Although Shakti Gauchan threw 19 dot balls, Hong Kong completed the target before 1 ball.

First win in Netherlands

In 2015, the Nepali team went to the Netherlands to play four Twenty20 international series before the Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Ireland and Northern Ireland. In the first three matches, Nepal did not pose much of a challenge and in the fourth and final match, they defeated the Netherlands by 3 wickets. Captain Paras Khadka played an innings of 54 runs off 41 balls and gave Nepal its first win.

This was Paras' first fifty in Twenty20 Internationals. He was selected as the player of the series of Nepali players. With this game, Nepal entered the Twenty20 international rankings. A minimum of 8 matches had to be played to qualify for the Twenty20 internationals. After playing a four-match series with the Netherlands, Nepal completed the 8-match criteria for ranking.

First series win

The Nepali team went to UAE to play three ODIs and a Twenty20 International. UAE defeated Nepal by 23 runs in the first Twenty20 international at the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai in 2019. Rohit Paudel, Sandeep Zora and Avinash Bohra made their 'debut' in Twenty20 internationals from this match.

Nepal won the second game by 4 wickets and the third game by 14 runs to win the series 2-1. This was Nepal's first series win in Twenty20 internationals. Taking 6 wickets in his 'debut' series, Avinash was selected as the player of the series.

Vinod's rapid half-century

Before going to play the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia Qualifier in Singapore in 2019, Nepal played a two-match series in Malaysia and scored a natural 2-0 result. After Paras scored an unbeaten 86 runs in 50 balls, Nepal completed the target of 129 runs with 9 balls to spare. In the second match, Vinod Bhandari scored an unbeaten 51 runs in 25 balls and set the record for making the fastest fifty in Twenty20 internationals for Nepal. In his efforts, Nepal lost 6 wickets and scored 173 runs. In response, Malaysia lost 7 wickets and scored only 167 runs.

Series win in Kenya

After reaching the semi-finals of the 1996 ODI World Cup, Nepal reached Kenya for the first time in 2022 to play a 5-match series. However, Kenyan cricket was in decline. That too, Nepal was desperate to win the series. In Manoj Prabhakar's first training, Nepal defeated Kenya 3-2 in the series. Captain Sandeep Lamichhane was selected as player of the series by taking 12 wickets.

Satisfactory results in America

World Cup League 2 matches or Twenty-20 World Cup, Nepal's results in the matches played in America were not satisfactory. But in October last year, Nepal won a three-match  beat America 2-0 in the

Twenty20 series. Rohit Paudel's 49 and Dipendra Singh Airy's all-round performance made Nepal win by 17 runs in the first match. In the second match, after Nepal and America scored 170 runs, the score was tied and Nepal won the Super Over. After the high performance of the top batsmen, Nepal won the series by 8 wickets in the third and last match.
