Pokhara has not been left behind to make history one after another while the big volleyball tournaments are looking for an alternative to Kathmandu. The competition being held in the multi-purpose covered hall here has strengthened Pokhara to prove a strong option and priority. Meanwhile, the second edition of Watsalya Everest Women's Volleyball League is starting on Friday in Pokhara.

6 franchise teams are competing in the covered hall at Pokhara Stadium. Karnali Yeshwis, Pokhara Ninjas, Lalitpur Queens, Kathmandu Spikers, Madhesh United and Lumbini Lavaz are the competitors of the second edition. Not only the venue is new this year, some teams and players will be new. Instead of Chitwan Shakti and Gandaki Thunders, Lumbini Lavaz and Pokhara Ninjas have entered the league respectively. 

For the first time in the history of Nepali women's volleyball, this league is taking place by selecting players through auction. Therefore, the players in all the teams have changed from the previous version. It will be a common challenge for all teams to perform well on the court by coordinating with new and foreign players.

All teams can have up to three foreign players . 18 foreign players have come to Fokhara to play from 6 teams. Players from Croatia, Thailand, Netherlands, Russia, Romania, America, Brazil, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia have arrived in Pokhara. There will be 15 matches in the

league stage. When everyone plays against each other, the top two finishers will compete for the title on August 28.

Karnali has made Sumitra Regmi, Pokhara Pragati Nath, Madhesh Niruta Thagunna, Lumbini Aruna Shahi, Kathmandu Usha Bhandari and Lalitpur Salina Shrestha have made marquee players. All except Pragati are marquee of the first edition. 

Everyone in the team is afraid of getting out of sync with foreign players during a short practice. Kathmandu Spikers' marquee Usha Bhandari said that she did not get enough practice with foreign players. It has been a week since I practiced with the Nepali players. We have only been able to practice with foreign players for one day,' she said. team, there were many doubts that Karnali would win the title in the first edition. Karnali was able to win the title with the best performance of foreign players and Nepali players. This year, Karnali has a challenge to defend the title. Karnali marquee Sumitra Regmi says that since all the players are new than the last edition, the challenge is . It is a challenge because all the players are new. While practicing with Nepali, we have become like a family. It has been good to play with foreign players for 2-3 days,' she said. In the opening match of the

league, the former winner Karnali is playing against the home team Pokhara Ninjas. As the home team, Pokhara will have strong support from the audience. With the best performance, Pokhara is at stake to win the title with the support of the audience. "We also performed well in the previous edition." Both Karnali and Pokhara are good teams," said Pokhara's marquee Pragati Nath, "If we play well, it will be of great benefit." The match between Karnali and Pokhara will be held on Friday afternoon. 

Lalitpur Queens and Madhesh United will compete on Friday. Lalitpur is the former runner-up. Madhesh looked weak in the last edition. Madhesh, which brought players from three different countries last year, has included only players from the Netherlands in the team this year. Former runner-up Lalitpur will be under pressure to become the winner this year. 

The 9th Prime Minister's Cup NVA League, Prachanda Cup National Women's Volleyball Tournament was held in Pokhara when Rakhep Covered Hall in Kathmandu was under repair. Before that, the Lions Club held an international level indoor volleyball tournament in Pokhara for the first time in Baisakh.

National women's team captain Aruna Shahi, who is also the marquee of Lumbini, says that having a tournament outside Kathmandu is positive for the volleyball craze. It is necessary to do it in all areas, more than Pokhara and Kathmandu. Pohor happened in Kathmandu, now it happened in Pokhara .
