In the 'First Union Cup' Doubles Badminton Tournament held at Bhusaldanda Covered Hall in Tansen, East Khola rural municipality 'A' group won the men's title. The pair of Mohan Dhakal and Jhavin Palli of East Khola Rural Municipality 'A' group defeated the pair of Dan Bahadur Rana and Gyan Bahadur Sinjali of 'A' group of Rampur Municipality in the final on Thursday evening by 2-0 in straight sets.

Along with the first prize, Purvkhola received 20,000 cash, trophy, medal and certificate. 10,000 in cash from Rampur, which is the second,  They are satisfied with trophies, medals and certificates.  In the two-day competition organized by Nepal Civil Service Union Palpa, Mathagadi Rural Municipality and Suntlajat Fruit Development Center came third in men's category.


Rampur municipality 'A' group defeated Vikram Garamza and Amber Bahadur Bakabal of Mathagadi in a set of 3-1 and Umnath Khanal and Dil Bahadur Saru of Suntala Jat Fruit Development Center 'A' group of Purvkhola in a set of 2-0 in the semifinals. 5,000 each in cash, trophy, medal and certificate along with the third prize. Competition coordinator Jeevan Rana informed that 46 couples participated in the competition.  


Mathagadhi Rural Municipality has become the first in the women's final. Mathagadi's Punam Chidi and Jitkumari Dhenga defeated Ritu GC and Sharmila Rana of Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality in straight sets by 2-0. Mathagadi got 8000 cash, trophy, medal and certificate along with the first prize.


Rainadevi, who came in second place, was satisfied with a cash trophy of 4,000, a medal and a certificate. On the women's side, Kalpana Adhikari and Ganga Bhandari of Kaligandaki Corridor Project and Pragya Lamtange and Pundari Aryal of Ribdikot came third. The third runner-up received 2/2 thousand in cash, trophy, medal and certificate. On the women's side, 11 pairs participated. 


Chief District Officer of Palpa Binu Bajracharya Kunwar, District President of Nepal Civil Servants Union Omprakash Neupane, District President of District Badminton Association Basantlal Bajracharya, Assistant Chief District Officer Rishiraj Subedi, former central member of the union Leela Aryal, sports coordinator Jeevan Rana and others presented cash, trophies, medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up players. Chief District Officer Bajracharya Kunwar requested the employees to be fit in the service flow as the body can be kept healthy through sports. 


A double badminton competition has been held among the employees of Sagh, state and local levels across Palpa district. Neupane, the president of the union, said that a competition was held between the employees of the two municipalities, eight rural municipalities of the district as well as the employees of the federal and state offices. Union secretary Hari Bahadur Thapa said that only a group of employees working in the same office participated in the competition. In the


competition, Chief District Officer Bajracharya Kunwar and Treasury and Accounts Controller Shashindra Khati and Assistant Chief District Officer Rishiram Subedi and Kalpana Adhikari of Kaligandaki Corridor Project won the friendly match.
