The organizer Prithvi Narayan Campus (PN) won the title of inter-campus TU Cup football tournament. On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the campus, PN won the Tribhuvan University inter-campus football tournament held at the Annapurna Stadium of the campus in Pokhara.
In the final on Tuesday, PN defeated Ratnarajyalakshmi (RR) by 1-0 on the students' side. On the female side, the blue and pink team of Prithvi Narayan Campus reached the finals. In the final, the blue team defeated the pink team with 1-0 goals.
The winner of the student category received Rs 111,111, the runner-up received Rs 71,111, trophies, medals and certificates. The winner of the female category received 71 thousand 111 rupees and the runner-up received 41 thousand 111 rupees with trophies, medals and certificates. Ayushman Gurung of PN was declared the best goalkeeper, Sangeet Chantyal the best defender and Anjan Devkota the best coach in the
competition. PN's Manish Thapa Magar won the title of the best player along with the best striker, said Virat Duwadi, secretary of Swaviyu. RR's Manish Magar won the best midfielder title.
PN Niloki Saru Khadka was declared the best player in the female category. Ramla Paudel of the winning team became the best goalkeeper, Radhika Gharti Chhetri (Tina) became the best midfielder, Ashwin Gurung became the best coach. Khushi Thapa of the runner-up PN Gulabi team was adjudged the best striker and Lakshmi Devkota the best defender. The best players in both male and female categories were awarded 5000 rupees and a trophy. The best player in the category received 2000 rupees and a trophy. Vikram Chhetri informed that 9 male and 8 female teams participated in the competition.
After 18 years, Swaviyu elections were held in Prithvi Narayan campus last March. 3 crore rupees have been allocated by the Union Government in the current financial year for the construction of student hostels on the campus. Apart from that, Swaviyu president Bishnu Pokharel said that Swaviyu is working on cleanliness, regular sports training, garden construction around the current dormitory.
