Trophy unveiling of Everest Women's Volleyball League in Pokhara

The trophy of the second edition of the Everest Women's Volleyball League, which will start from Friday, has been unveiled in Pokhara.

Dhanraj Acharya, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, unveiled the trophy on Wednesday at Barahi Ghat on the banks of Phewa Lake. 

Speaking after the unveiling, Mayor Acharya expressed his belief that the league will contribute significantly to the development of volleyball and women's empowerment in Pokhara. He said that games bring identity, self-reliance and social change along with entertainment.  The

trophy was taken to the Talbarahi temple and worshiped. Organized by Infinity Dreams Pvt. Ltd., the league will be held in multi-purpose covered hall at Pokhara Stadium and will run till August 28.  In the opening match of the

league, former winners Karnali Yeshwis and Pokhara Ninjas will play. The match will start at 2 pm on Friday. Lalitpur Queens and Madhesh United will compete in the second match on that day. The match will start at 4 pm. 6 franchise teams will compete in the

league, namely Karnali Yeshwis, Pokhara Ninjas, Lalitpur Queens, Kathmandu Spikers, Madhesh United and Lumbini Lavaz. In the league stage, there will be 15 matches according to the single round robin system. The top two teams in the points table will compete for the title.
