An international rugby series will be held between Nepal and Bangladesh. The Nepal Rugby Association is going to organize the series. The matches will be held on 30th and 31st of August at Dashrath Stadium. The first series between these two teams was held in Dhaka in 2022.
In the second edition of the game, sevens and fifteens will be held in two categories under the international rugby competition. On the first day of the tournament, 2 games will be played under Rugby Sevens, and on the second day, one game will be played under Fifteens, according to Deepak Adhikari, the treasurer of the Rugby Union.
29 players from Nepal will participate in the rugby tournament. "Although Bangladesh's rugby team is strong, Nepal's team is not weak," Nepal's rugby coach Vinod Tamang said, "Nepal has achieved good results in other international games." Coach Tamang said that Nepal has been preparing for the international rugby series with Bangladesh for the last two months.
Bangladesh won the first edition. Bangladesh rugby team will come to Nepal on 29th to participate in the tournament. The champion rugby team will be awarded with a trophy, medal and certificate, while the best player will be awarded with a trophy. Similarly, the association will award a medal along with a certificate to the runner-up team. The estimated budget for the game is 35 lakhs.
