Honoring 12 runners including runner Rajpura

Prayas Manch Nepal has honored runner Rajpura Pachhai and 12 people including veteran runners and sportspersons who have won medals and performed well in various domestic and international competitions.

They were honored on the occasion of the 14th musical evening held at the Nepal Pragya Foundation of veteran runner and lyricist Buddhavir Lama on Saturday. Rajpura won the silver medal in the 10 km distance of the South Asian Cross Country Championship. She complained about not being honored by the government for winning this medal. Rajpura said, "Even though the government did not honor me, this honor made me feel proud and added energy." I am grateful to this organization.'

Honorees include Mohan Kumar Karki, Vice President of Nepal School Sports Federation, Pushpalal Shrestha, Sita Rimal, Jairam Lama, Deepak Kumar Ranjit, Dharma Maharjan, Yangdi Lama, Roshni Shah, Lakpa Sherpa Lama and Triratna Manandhar.

Jit Bahadur KC, the former runner who won Nepal's first international medal, Indira Yakthumba, founder principal of Gyanodaya Balbatika, Dolly Gurung (talent) of Gyanodaya, Vice Principal Bhanu A and others were specially honored for their contribution in the field of sports and education. Those who contributed in various fields including senior citizens and social workers were also honored.
