First ever DAV Sports Gala: Police in Cricket and Kanjirova Champions in Football

The first edition of Sushil Kedia Memorial Sports Gala 2025 organized by DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharti School in Lalitpur is over. A total of 91 schools participated in the sports gala. Competition was held in 6 different team and individual categories. Sports Gala is a big competition organized by DAV School.

In the cricket final, Nepal Police School defeated LRI School by 49 runs and won the title. Having set a target of 72 runs for victory, LRI lost all their wickets in 23 runs in 4.3 overs. Police's Aryan Shah smashed LRI by taking 4 wickets. He also scored 31 runs in batting.

LRI's Abhi Thapaliya was the best player. Best Batter Arush Jha of DAV, Best Bowler Aryan Shah of Police, Best Wicketkeeper Dikshant Mishra of James and Sanatan Nepal of Radiant Readers were selected as emerging players. Kanjirova Secondary School won the title when 18 teams participated in

football. Modern Indian was second and DAV was third. Aryan Jha of DAV won the Best Goalkeeper, Dipankar Bhusal of Modern Indian won the Top Scorer, Tusar Giri of Kanjirova won the Emerging Player and Man of the Final and Fair Play Team Award of NK Memorial. Former President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Ganesh Thapa did it.  

In the competition between 9 schools in Taekwondo, Vishnudevi Secondary School came first, DAV came second and James and Jugal Nav Gurukul School came third. Vishnudevi's Varshika Mahara was declared as the best poomse player for women, Navyam Lama of Bodhivriksha was declared as the best poomse player for men, Garima Pun of DAV as the best fighter for women and Akshunna Rai of DAV was declared as the best emerging player.

In men's basketball, 10 schools participated, LRI Vidyalaya stood first and Gyanodaya Vidyalaya stood second. Riuchi Shrestha of LRI was declared the highest scorer and Rakesh Bhujel was declared MVP. In women's basketball, 10 schools participated, James School stood first and Gyanodaya stood second. Krisha Dhakal of James became the top scorer and Divyansa Karki became the MVP. 15 schools competed for

table tennis. In the men's team event, United School came first, Srishti Academy came second and AVM and DAV came third. In the women's team event, AVM came first, United came second and Pushpa Sadan and Modern Indian School came third.

Nirvik Shakya of Delight Kindergarten High School, Anuska Shah of Srishti Academy, Trijal Chaudhary of Kavya School and Pramisha of Toran Navajeevan School became the best players in different age groups. Sarurat Gautam of United Universal, Rumani Pathak of DAV, Aron Maharjan of Pushpa Sadan and Sneha Kumari Mahato of DAV were given the Rising Player Award. AVM's Kavya Shakya and Shirishraj Shakya became emerging players.

Out of 13 schools participating in badminton, Nepal Police School came first, St. Mary's second and Kendriya Vidyalaya third. On the individual side, Sumir Dhakal of DAV became the best male player, Nikita Yadav of St. Xavier's became the best female player. Ayush Paudel of DAV and Vijal Khatri of St Mary's emerged as emerging players.
