Bhakta Rana Memorial Intelligence Competition has started on Wednesday. Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the competition. 221 players are participating in the two-day tournament.

International arbiter Gyanendra Khaiju is the judge of the competition. According to the organizer All Nepal Buddhichal Association, there is more than 2 lakh prize money in women, veteran, unrated and age group categories including open. The competition will be conducted in 9 stages based on the Swiss league.

At the end of the three stages of the competition held at Royal Airport Hotel, top ranked Suman Lama, Naveen Tandukar, Umesh Rai and Deepak Maharjan have taken the lead by adding 3 points.

Former Prime Minister Dahal reminded that the role of Bhakta Rana was important during the war and praised the role of All Nepal Intelligence Association in the development of Nepali chess game.
