The Skate Land in collaboration with Nepal Skating and Skateboarding Association is going to hold the first national mini skate marathon in Gokarna on October 4th.

The competition will be held at a distance of 5 km starting from Alapot of Kathmandu Sundarijal and ending at Gokarna Training Chowk. . 200 athletes from Nepal, India and Dubai will participate in the competition, Ibrahim Rai, the founder of The Skate Land, informed at the press conference on Tuesday. A national competition of inline skating is going to be held for the first time in Nepal.

It is expected that the best players in more than 300 skate parks operating in Nepal and more than 50 players from India will come for the competition. The purpose of organizing the competition is to develop the sport of skating in Nepal and make the young players involved in this sport professional.

President of Nepal Skating and Skateboarding Association Achyut Khanal said that skate mini marathon will prove to be a milestone for inline skating and skateboarding sports to take a professional form in the future. He said that there are 12 different skate events in Nepal and there is a lot of potential for players in the new category of inline skates.

Rai, the founder of The Skate Land, which was established three years ago, said that now they will hold regular competitions and activate the inline skate game.

President Khanal said that since skate parks are opening rapidly in every district, it is mandatory for the association to take the initiative and get approval to proceed in an orderly manner.
