Italian in third foreign player at Spikers

Spikers have signed Italian middle blocker/opposite hitter Omima Caudill as the third foreign player. Earlier, Bulgarian setter Nikova and Kazakhstan's opposite hitter Elina have already been signed.

Kathmandu Spikers has signed Italian player Omima Caudill for Vatsalya Everest Women's Volleyball League (EWV).

Spikers have signed middle blocker/opposite hitter Caudill as the third foreign player. Earlier, Bulgarian setter Nikova and Kazakhstan's opposite hitter Elina have already been signed.

By signing foreign players of three different positions, Kathmandu Spikers has strengthened the team balance. In the first season, players from Turkey and Bulgaria played from Kathmandu.

Caudill, who has more than a decade of experience, has been playing as a middle blocker. She can also play as an opposite hitter. Spikers say that he is particularly good at slide attack.

Although born in Morocco, Caudill plays for Italy. He  She has played in various teams in France, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and other countries. In 2019, she won a bronze medal from the Moroccan national team at the African Games.   

Caudill, who is about to come to Nepal to play the league for the first time, is very enthusiastic. It is a great honor for me to play in the Everest Women's Volleyball League in Nepal. I am playing for the first time in Nepal. I am looking forward to meet the volleyball fans of Nepal and perform well on the court," she said in a statement from Spikers.

After signing three foreign players, the number of players in Spikers has reached 11. Now one player is left to be taken from the talent hunt.

Usha Bhandari, the main spiker of the national women's volleyball team, continued to be the marquee player. Manisha Choudhary, Yamuna Rasaili, Rima Kunwar, Balmika Acharya, Kamala Pun, Ashika Chhetri, Bhuvaneshwari Chand from Kathmandu auction. Lok Bahadur Budha has been appointed as coach.

The second edition of the Everest Women's Volleyball League will be held in Pokhara from August 20 to 28.
