Vijay Sinjali of USU, Ivana Thapa of table tennis, Himal Sunari of volleyball, Pooja Mahato of cricket and Rekha Paudel of football. These are the names, which have been nominated in People's Choice of NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards 2081.

The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) announced the names of five sportspersons in the People's Choice category under the 22nd edition of Sports Awards on Sunday. Along with their performances, media coverage, the craze of the players have been nominated by the organizing platform.  It is a tradition to announce this category one month before the

sports award event. The award is being held on August 29th in Pokhara. Rekha, who was nominated, said that she was very happy to be nominated for People's Choice and that one of her dreams had come true. She said, "It was my dream to be nominated for a sports award, I hope sports lovers will love me."

Vijay said that even though the game is not as popular as other games, he is working hard to make this game famous. He said, "I have appeared on the stage for many years at sports awards. At that time my role was different. I thought, one day I will be nominated, that dream has come true.'

Pooja, Ivana and Himal could not attend. Pooja is in India during cricket training. Likewise, Ivana and Himal are busy in the competition. The winner of the People's Choice category will be selected on the basis of the votes received by sports journalists affiliated with the organizing platform, national coaches of various sports, social media supporters and digital wallet IME Pocket.

Voting has already started on Sunday in the digital wallet IME Khalti, which holds 50 percent of the votes. Likewise, the social network Facebook vote will be 25 percent (from the official Facebook page of NSJF Pulsar Sports Award and the official page of Pulsar Nepal), the vote of the head coach of the National Sports Association affiliated to the Nepal Olympic Committee will be 12.5 percent, and the vote of the forum member will be 12.5 percent. The winner of this category will win a Pulsar motorbike.

Last year, Kavita Bhatt of Volleyball won the People's Choice Award by getting the most votes. Awards will be given in a total of 10 categories at the Sports Awards. These include People's Choice Sportsman of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Youth Sportsman of the Year, Coach of the Year, Awards, Para-Athlete Award, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Team of the Year and Asian Sports Journalist Award. Forum President Niranjan Adhikari and IME Khalti Chief Commercial Officer Ashish Gautam signed the agreement. On that occasion, Gautam said that this time the sports awards are in Pokhara and the contract with Khalti is different.
