The Nepal Olympic Committee issued a statement on Wednesday and said that serious attention has been drawn regarding the formation of the NOC ad hoc committee.

The official Olympic committee of Nepal is the only Nepal Olympic Committee, which is registered with the National Sports Council and is being elected periodically.

The previous day, it was informed through a statement that a 9-member NOC ad-hoc committee was formed under the chairmanship of former president Dhruva Bahadur Pradhan. An ad-hoc committee has been formed from the meeting of presidents, general secretaries and office bearers of 23 national sports associations affiliated with NOC and a statement has been issued using NOC letterhead and seal.

International Olympic Committee's Charter and National Sports Development Act 2077, Article 37 also provide that a single Olympic Committee can remain in a country. Although there is an Olympic Committee, the gathering of some unauthorized people cannot form an ad hoc committee and any such committee cannot be authorized, according to the Olympic Committee headed by Shrestha. The letterpad used in the

statement belongs to the Nepal Olympic Committee and the Olympic ring and logo used in it can only be used by the official Nepal Olympic Committee recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

According to the statement issued by the general secretary of the committee, Rajeev Shrestha, only the official Olympic Committee is ensuring Nepal's participation in Olympic activities in Nepal and sports competitions held under the umbrella of the IOC. In the

statement, it is mentioned that the committee will ensure the right of Nepalese athletes to play by the internationally recognized official Nepal Olympic Committee.

The Olympic controversy came to the surface after the NOC election held last December elected a new working committee under the chairmanship of Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
