The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had published a public notice on July 30 for sponsoring the jerseys of the Nepali national team with a 5-day deadline. The minimum annual fee was 2 crores and it was said that it would be for 3 years.

According to Paras Khadka, secretary of CAN, according to the sealed bid call, NASA Securities is the main sponsor of the Nepali national team for 23.6 million rupees per year. The contract will be for 3 years. On behalf of CAN, Chairman Chatur Bahadur Chand and NASA Managing Director Madan Paudel signed the agreement at an event held on Sunday in Rohwar by CAN General Manager Utsav Dhungana and NASA Chief Growth Officer Anil Shrestha.

According to the agreement, the cricket jersey of the Nepali national men's team will have NASA securities. CAN president Chand, National Sports Council member secretary Tanklal Ghising and NASA chief Ravindra Shrestha unveiled the new jersey. "This is not only sponsorship but also our commitment to the society," NASA Managing Director Poudel said that NASA, which has been working on financial empowerment, is now excited to work in sports as well. CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand said that Nepali cricket will go further with the support of all sectors.

Shahav replaces Lalit

Nepali national team's left-arm spinner Lalit Rajvanshi is replaced by Shahav Alam who is going to play the Top End T20 cricket tournament in Australia. Lalit's mother Shubkumari Rajvanshi passed away on Sunday, due to which Lalit did not go to Australia. Lalit was invited to the auction of Nepal Premier League on Saturday.

Left-arm spinner Shahav, who was in the initial list of the Nepali team, was brought from Bhairahawa on Sunday to replace Lalit. Nepalese players are leaving for Australia on Monday. Some officials, including coach Stuart Law, have left for Australia on Sunday night.

Northern Territory organized this tournament to be held in Darbin from August 14 to 24. Nepal has also taken it as a preparation for the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia Pacific Qualifier to be held in Oman in October. Nepal will play their first match against host Northern Territory in Darwin on August 15. Nepal will then play Bangladesh A on August 16, Melbourne Stars on August 18, Hobart Hurricanes on August 19, Melbourne Renegades on August 20 and Pakistan Shaheens on August 20.

Two months ago, Nepal won 3 out of 4 World Cup League 2 matches in Scotland, but coach Law said that playing in Australia would be very different. He said that there is a situation where they have to play 6 matches in 8 days and the team has been promoted with the aim of qualifying for the World Cup.

Captain Rohit Paudel said that they are playing with a good team in Australia and said that the Nepali team is also in rhythm. He said that he is playing with the World Cup qualification in mind and believes that the team will be even better after visiting Australia. CAN president Chand said that Nepal is creating an environment to play with strong teams before the World Cup qualifiers.
