Nepali Taekwondo players have won 8 medals including 3 gold in the 10th MBC Cup International Open Taekwondo Championship.

Sita Tamang, Anjan Chaudhary and Neeraj Deuba have won gold medals in the competition held on Monday at Geireong Gymnasium in Daejeon, South Korea. Neeraj won the gold in the 'B' league senior 87 kg weight group for Gyorogi.

Sita won gold in individual poomsae and pair poomsae for seniors. She teamed up with Anjan to win gold in pairs. Anjan also won gold in men's senior individual poomsae.

Asmin Raut, who won silver for senior 30-year-old individual poomses under the A league, also won silver in pair poomses along with Nisha Darnal. The pair from Myanmar won gold in this event. Nisha won bronze in the 30-year-old individual poomsae. In this, host South Korea won gold and Pakistan won silver. Ramila Tamang won the silver medal. She won the medal in Senior Women's Individual Pooms.

Raju Chhetri, the international taekwondo referee of Nepal, also played the role of judge in the championship. He has acted as judge in dozens of international taekwondo competitions including the US Open. Chhetri, who received honorary citizenship from the Korean government in 2013 due to his contribution in the field of sports, has been living in Korea.
