The first RRA Running Shield cricket tournament organized by Radiant Readers Academy is going to start on Monday.
DK Dhungana, founder of the organizer academy, said in a press conference on Thursday that 15 student teams will participate in the competition, including two from the organizer. Participating teams will be divided into 4 groups and will be played on a league-com knockout basis.
Group 'A' has LRI, DAV, Culture and Bluebird and Group 'B' has Api, Galaxy, Manakamana and Vishwa Niketan. Valley Public, Gateway, Mokshada and Radiant 'B' teams are in Group 'C' while Balkunj, Mrigasira World and Radiant 'A' are in Group 'D'. The

winner will get 30,000 and the runner-up will get 15,000. According to the organizers, about 2 lakh rupees will be spent for the competition. The match of the four-day tournament will be played at Radiant Cricket Academy in Sanepa.
Founder Principal Dhungana said that Radiant is working in various fields of sports to advance students through sports. He expressed his belief that the tournament will help in the promotion of cricket even if it is a little.
