Nepal Youth Fitness and Calisthenics is going to organize Asian Powerlifting Championship for the first time in Nepal.

The organizers said through a press conference on Wednesday that the three-day competition will be held from July 30 to August 1 at the Nepal Police Club premises in Bhrikutimand. In the

competition, open powerlifting, dead lifting, bench press, bench press and dead lift will be contested in four categories. There will be 8-8 groups for men and women for weight group and 6-6 groups for women and men for age group. Sukdev Karki, the chairman of the organizer informed that more than 120 players from other Asian countries including Nepal, India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Uzbekistan will participate in the

competition.

The main sponsorship of Himalaya Questa Pro, the co-sponsorship of Surya Ply and the partnership of World Power Lifting, the first, second and third place players in each weight and age group of the competition will be awarded trophies and attractive gifts. Through the lucky draw, 5 players will be provided with one year insurance of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life Insurance worth 10 lakh rupees. People aged 40 to 84 will also participate in the

age group. U-18 (Junior) and U-23 (Youth) will also compete. It is confirmed that 49 players including 17 women from Nepal will participate in the tournament. It is said that there is a budget of around 86 lakh rupees for the

competition. President Karki said that the competition is going to be held with the aim of uplifting the powerlifting sport and giving recognition and encouragement to Nepali athletes at the international level.
