The 7-member Nepali Wadorio karate team with 5 players will go to Sri Lanka's Ratnapura on Wednesday to participate in the 5th Open International Karate Tournament.
3 male and 2 female players will compete in the tournament to be held on August 7 and 8. Men's under 80 kg Pasang Gyaljeng, under 52 kg Nishan Ghale and under 40 kg Aaron Sherchan will compete. Ursla Pahri and Arpana Magar will play under 61 kg and Arpana Magar under 50 kg.
Chief trainer is Harisharan KC, President of Nepal Wadorio Karate Do Association and Rajkumar Karki is the official. Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former Minister Shakti Basnet and others bid farewell to the
team. Dahal expressed his belief that Wadorio Karate will win a medal in this competition as in the past and wished him success.
