Nepal School Football League (NSFL) is going to be organized by Thunderbolts Development Center. Eight schools of the capital will participate in the first edition of this under-18 league.
James Thunderbolts (James School), Super Damphase (DAV School), FC Mount Kanjirova (Kanjirova School), LA (Little Angels), Red Pandas (Red Bangla), Chelsea Falcons (Chelsea World School), KWS Lokhug FC (Kathmandu World School) and Eulens Panthers (Ulens School) will play in the league.
Even though the school is participating, the name and logo of the club have been kept different to organize the competition in a new format. The league winner will get a prize of Rs 5 lakh and the runner-up will get Rs 250,000. On the individual side, the highest scorer, best goalkeeper and best player will get 50,000 each.
The competition to be held at James School's Thunder Bolts ground will be held from August 2. There will be 28 matches in the league which will be played every Saturday and Sunday. After the league round and playoffs, the final will be held on September 20. RP Basyal, vice principal of JAMES, said that a football league has been started now and the goal is to have school leagues for other sports gradually.
