The names of players and coaches have been announced in seven categories for the Dharan Sports Awards.

Dharan Sports Forum has announced the names of successful players and coaches in seven different categories under Dharan Sports Awards 2082.
The forum held a press conference on Tuesday and announced the names of female and male players who have been nominated for seven different categories, including the best Dharan player of the year. The names of the players and coaches nominated by the 3-member selection committee, consisting of Rajeshman Shrestha, coordinator of the platform, table tennis coach Rajeshman Shrestha, Dipesh Shakya, the advisor and karate trainer, and Bikram Limbu, the member secretary of the platform and physical fitness trainer, have been announced.
President Kishore Rai informed that the selection committee has announced the names of 14 sportspersons of various categories for the award.
Sahil Rai, Nigam Rai, Avtar Shrestha, Niraj Tamang and Siddhant Sapkota have been nominated for this edition's Best Dharan Player of the Year Men. Sahil and Nigam are karate athletes while Avatar is a bodybuilding athlete. Niraj and Siddhant are golf players. Barsha Rai and Salina Jogi have been nominated for
women. Both of them are Citerio karate players.
Sulekha Thakur, Gautam Tamang and Shreya Subedi have been nominated in The Rising Star category, which is given to encourage child athletes below 15 years of age. All three are table tennis players. Kiran Lama, Geeta Thapa and Shyam Tamang have been nominated for the best coach award. Kiran is a karate coach while Geeta is a table tennis coach and Shyam is a cycling coach.
Among the nominees, one person each will be given the Best Dharan Player of the Year, Best Coach and Rising Star Award. According to the organizers, an award will also be given to one of the best sports journalists.
The best Dharan players of the year, female and male, will each receive an award with 30,000 cash, while the best coach of the year will receive an award with 20,000 cash. Similarly, The Rising Star player and the best sports journalist will get 15,000 rupees in cash. During the
event, Dharana player Vivek Rai, who won a medal in the Para Olympics, will also be awarded with the Bikram Rai Memorial Award along with 10,000 cash, Rai said. The platform said that they will be awarded by organizing an award program next Saturday. In order to encourage players and coaches, Dharan Sports Forum has been providing 'Sports Awards' every year.
