The first inter-school age group swimming competition organized by the Nepal Swimming Association has started on Saturday.
National Sports Council Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising inaugurated the two-day competition at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato. The member-secretary discussed the important role of schools and parents in the development/expansion of swimming. 250 players are participating in the
competition. Mukhiya Lama, the coordinator of the competition, said that he believes that the competition will help in the development of swimming at the school level.
The finals of 26 events took place on the first day. President of Nepal Swimming Association Jagatman Shrestha, Coordinator Mukhiya Lama and Managing Director of Matrika Hospital Sona Pradhan gave prizes to the winners of the first day competition.
