Nepali National Women's Football Team captain Savitra Bhandari 'Samba' has been honored by Marsyangdi Rural Municipality of Lamjung. Similarly, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality Youth and Sports Development Committee, Amar Mavi Khudi and others have also honored.
The rural municipality honored Samba by organizing a program at the municipal center Bhulbhule on Thursday. Village Chairman Arjun Gurung said that the village council honored Savitra for her long-term contribution, international achievements and increasing the pride of the village.

In an interview with under-19 players and students in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality held on the occasion, Samba said that discipline, perseverance and determination will guide people successfully. Samba recently signed with New Zealand's Wellington Phoenix Football Club. The club signed her for the new season of Australian A-League Women's Football. Earlier, she played for France's En Avant Guengamp Club . She returned to Nepal 2 months ago after completing her journey with the club.
She has represented Nepal by participating in various leagues in Israel, India, Maldives and other countries. Village Chairman Gurung said that the contribution of Savitra, one of the highest scorers in the history of Nepali women's football, has inspired the country's sports sector.
