Bangladesh has won the Twenty20 international cricket series against Pakistan with a lead of 2-0. Bangladesh won the second Twenty20 match by 8 runs on Tuesday, shrugging off the challenge of Fahin Ashraf and Ahmed Daniel.
After defeating Pakistan by 7 wickets in the first match, Bangladesh took an unbeaten lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. This is the first time that Bangladesh have won the series against Pakistan in the fourth attempt. The third and final match will be played on Thursday.
Ashraf scored 51 off 32 balls and Daniel, who was making his debut, scored 17 off 11 balls, but Pakistan, who had set a target of 134 runs in Dhaka, were bowled out for 125 runs in 19.2 overs. Pakistan lost for the second day in a row after Daniel took a catch on the second ball of the last over.
Bangladesh's Devrehate fast bowler Soriful Islam took 2 wickets for 17 runs and Pakistan had lost 5 wickets when they scored 15 runs in the first 5 overs at the Mirpur wicket. Earlier, after Jakar Ali scored 55 runs in 48 balls, Bangladesh, who were sent in to bat first, batted the entire 20 overs and were bowled out for 133 runs.
