Nepalese athletes have won 8 gold medals in the Songnam Open International Taekwondo Championship held in South Korea. Neeraj Deuba of Nepal APF Taekwondo team won gold in Songnam city. He won gold in 87 kg.

Other golds were won by players of the Nepali Police team. In under 40 years, Sita Tamang and Jit Bahadur won individual and team gold. Sharmila Lama and Prem Bahadur Limbu and Anjan Chaudhary won the gold in the under 30 category. 

About 2,000 players from 45 countries participated in the tournament held in Songnama city on July 19 and 20. Raju Kshatri, an international judge from Nepal, played the role of judge in the competition.
