The third edition of the international invitation Taplejung Gold Cup will be held from 24th to 31st July. The organizers have said that eight teams will participate in the competition organized on the occasion of Lakhejatra festival.

Committee Chairman Sagar Maden informed that teams from Bagmati, Gandaki, Madhesh Province and India will also participate in the competition to be held in the courtyard of Bhanujan Secondary School located in the headquarters of Fungling. Tellok Sporting Club of Taplejung will participate on behalf of

organizers. Fidim Sporting Club of Panchthar, Redstar Football Club of Jhapa, The Young Brothers Club of Sunsari will participate from Koshi Pradesh. Salhesh Yuva Club of Siraha from Madhesh Pradesh, Church Boys of Kathmandu from Bagmati, Gandaki from  Sahara Club of Pokhara and Legend Football Academy of Bharat Siliguri will participate, the organizers informed.  According to

Maden, all new teams have been invited to this year's competition, except last year's runner-up Salhesh. The winner will receive Rs 7 lakh 2 thousand 82 and the runner-up will receive a trophy, medal and certificate along with Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand 82. According to Secretary Tikendra Nepali, the best player will be awarded 20,000, the best scorer, the best forward, new emerging, the best goalkeeper, the best defender, the best midfielder and the best coach will be awarded 15,000. 

Those who become the man of the match every day will receive a prize at the rate of 7000.  According to

treasurer Dawa Sherpa, the ticket price for the quarter-final match is Rs 100, while the semi-final is Rs 200 and the final is Rs 250. The organizers said that children under 10 years old and senior citizens will be allowed to enter the ground free of charge. Players and referees will be insured at the rate of 100,000. Organizers estimate that 64 lakh rupees will be spent on the

competition.
