Nepali team to go to India to play Kabaddi World Cup

The Nepalese team is going to Haryana, India on Saturday to participate in the second Women's Kabaddi World Cup. The team has 18 members including 14 players. The tournament will be held from August 3 to 10 at Mormajara in Haryana.

The players are Manmati Bista (Captain), Jayanti Badu (Vice-Captain), Menuka Rajvanshi, Ravina Chaudhary, Meena Nepali, Ganga Ghimire, Ashika Kunwar, Srijan Kumari Tharu, Srijan Dhanuk, Manisha Joshi, Urusha Shakya, Asma Yadav, Vinita Pandit Chhetri and Sanju Thami.

coach is Vishnudatta Bhatt, assistant coach is Harina Thapa, manager is Sharad Darshandhari and judge is Rameshchandra Ojha. Before the

tournament, the Nepali team will train for 12 days in Mormazar and play a practice match with 5 local clubs.

Nepal, which ranks third among the 47 countries in Asia, is also going to be selected to participate in the competition. Along with Nepal, India, Uganda, Germany, Chinese Taipei, Netherlands, Zanzibar, Iran, Japan, Poland, Kenya, Argentina and Thailand will participate in the tournament.

The second edition of the World Cup is going to happen after 13 years . The first edition was published in 2012 by India's  It took place in Patna.

National Sports Council Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising, President of All Nepal Kabaddi Association Tulsi Thapa and Director of National Team Preparation Deepak Bisht farewelled the team on Friday .

Member-Secretary Ghising said that the graph of women players is going up and he said that the women's kabaddi team which has won medals in the Asian competition has also succeeded in breaking the illusion that it is limited only to South Asia .

Coach Bhatt and captain Manmati said that the preparation was good after 8 months of closed training and said that they are hopeful of winning a medal.
