Including Adil Ansari, the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has announced a 32-member squad for the Twenty-20 World Cup Asia and Asia-Pacific Qualifiers to be held in Oman on Sunday. The World Cup qualifiers will be held from October 8 to 17.
Adil, who is also a member of the Nepali national team, was accused of spot-fixing in the Nepal Twenty-20 League held three years ago. Kathmandu District Court acquitted him in March 2080. But because he was not 'cleared' by the International Cricket Council (ICC), he could not play in any form of cricket.
On May 21, Adil returned to the national team structure for the first time after CAN announced that the ban on him had been lifted. He had not played any domestic cricket since the spot-fixing allegations. Avinash Bohra, a member of the Nepali team who played in the Twenty-20 World Cup last year in America and West Indies, has not been placed in the World Cup qualifying team. In the
Nepali team, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Dipendra Singh Airi, Kushal Bhurtel, Anil Sah, Asif Sheikh, Lokesh Bam, Bhim Sarki, Kushal Malla, Arif Sheikh, Nandan Yadav, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Rijan Dhakal, Sandeep Lamichhane, Pratish GC, Lalit Rajwanshi, Gulshan Jha, Rupesh Singh, Basir Ahmed, Shahab Alam, Yuvraj Khatri, Kiran Thagunna, Sagar Dhakal, Akash Chand, Vivek Yadav, Adil, Pawan Sarraf, Sandeep Zora, Sher Malla, Shubh Kansakar, Arjun Gharti, Kamalsingh Airy are there.
