Nepalese coaches also have a habit of saying foreigners are better when they are players, and later when they become coaches themselves, Nepalis are no less

Players need good hotels to stay. GPS is required during training. Cameras are also needed in training. It also requires manpower who can analyze it. Overall, if you want to prepare for a bigger competition, you should provide all possible facilities.

Is it also ambiguous and controversial? Not at all. Patrick de Wilde, the head coach of the Nepali national team who played in the AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, asked for the same. But there was not only ambivalence and controversy, but also sharp criticism.

Nepali women's football, which has been neglected and not prioritized for years, has recently become something better. Especially in the women's league, there were matches from qualifying to play-offs. There were so many games in women's football last year that before that it was just a fantasy.

In that sense, everything should be given to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). This is the reason for Nepali team's good performance in the selection held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. ANFA will soon be choosing a more comprehensive women's league, the hopes are high.

Having said that, ANFA has also done such a thing, which can be called completely unnecessary and exaggerated, and no matter how much it is criticized, it is not enough. And, this is - the work to answer what De Wilde said. After the qualifying matches, the head coach did not return to Nepal, from there he went home to Belgium. Before that, he gave an interview to Kantipur by heating up the atmosphere of Nepali football. With that interview, Nepali football became a topic of debate, there were differences of opinion about Nepali football.

In particular, De Wilde did not say anything new, which was said by the previous coach. Not too long, in the last decade, no matter how many domestic or foreign coaches have taken over the men's or women's national team, they have said it formally or informally - Nepali football is not progressing in the same way. If Nepali football does not change the current pattern, it will never be able to progress in a concrete way, instead it will only go backward.

Nepali football needs a technical director by working at the same time, long-term planning is needed, work should be done from the grass root level, who can disagree and oppose this? This is what De Wilde said. But ANFA was in a hurry to answer it and tried to answer it through a press conference as it went to Tashkent to join the Nepali Women's National Team. What this means is that Nepali football is fine as it is now, there is no need to improve it, rather it is better to continue with the old stagnant mercury.

What is the purpose and destination of Nepali women's football in the future than ANFA and those officials turning De Wilde back like this? What work should be done for its development and expansion had to be done. Failure to qualify for the Asia Cup next year means that the way to the World Cup and Olympics is also closed for our Nepali women's football. It can have a negative effect. Similarly, our two rival countries of South Asia, Bangladesh and India, can take a big leap by qualifying for the Asia Cup.

Again this may be beyond our reach. That is what ANFA should worry about. We have to accept the fact that we are really behind in the technical side of football. De Wilde's refusal to turn on his assistant's computer does not necessarily mean that he refuses to turn on the computer itself. It means that it is weak to do the work connected with it. In Nepali football, the production of coaches has not worked for a long time. Good progress has been made in this direction in the last few years.

But we don't have our own pro-licensed coaches yet. There has been a debate about this for a long time, but the work of hiring such good coaches has not progressed. Nowadays a football team needs many specialists. Coaches are different. There are many methods of measuring player performance. It must be checked. From how to stay fit, what to eat to how to use social media, experts are needed. But Nepali football has not been able to pay attention to that.

Most of the players who have gone to Tashkent have informally praised De Wilde's coaching style. It is the squeeze of the players – these pro-licensees from abroad are one step ahead of Nepal's own coaches. World football also does not say that the national team needs a coach with at least this qualification. Again, if there is any disease in Nepali coaches, they have the habit of saying that foreigners are better when they are players, and later when they are coaches themselves, Nepalis are not inferior.

In the final of the last SAFF Championship, Nepal was defeated by Bangladesh at Dashrath Stadium. Rajendra Tamang, the coach at that time, not only resigned from his post at the end of the tournament, he told the Nepali media that the way Nepali women's football is progressing now is not enough. He also said that one generation of players should be retired and a new generation should be prepared. He said it slowly with a little concealment, de Wilde said it with a little open criticism.

, De Wilde should be criticized for one fact and that is - the way he made it a matter of controversy as to who should be made the captain. The coach will decide who will be the captain. But in this process, he should not make it a matter of controversy. The way Savitra Bhandari became the captain and the way Angela Subba lost not only the leadership, but also the status of the first choice player, is not acceptable. Angela has contributed immensely to Nepali football and her exit from the captaincy should be smooth and dignified.

Who can say that Savitra is not worthy to be captain again? But perhaps he himself is not happy, as the arm-band came to him. Therefore, De Wilde is also responsible for the controversy and confusion in the team during their stay in Tashkent. This one fact aside, there is no doubt that De Wilde is the best coach Nepali women's football has ever had. That's what we need, no less, a coach who works.

The answer that ANFA and Nepali football should give to those De Wilde is specifically this. What is the destination of women's football? What kind of long-term planning is needed for this? How to produce more good players? How to shape domestic and international women's football? And what will we do to win the SAFF championship that we have not yet won? Serious discussion and debate about it. Don't limit yourself to discussions and do systematic work. There was no need to hold a press conference to criticize de Wilde.

If we understand one fact well, we only need to work a little better, the prospects of Nepali women's football are really very good. De Wilde has also said that it is not enough to praise Nepali women's football players. He has worked in many places in his coaching career but he has not found anything as good as the current Nepali women's team. The current team is truly called the 'Golden Generation'. It is a challenge to maintain such a team in the coming years and prepare a new generation. What needs to be done for this is work.
