Nepal is going to play its first match against Northern Territory in the Top End T20 cricket tournament in Australia. In the fourth edition of the tournament to be held in Darwin from August 14 to 24, Nepal will play the first match against the host team Northern Territory on August 15.
Nepal will play Bangladesh A on August 16, Melbourne Stars on August 18, Hobart Hurricanes on August 19, Melbourne Renegades on August 20 and Pakistan Shaheens on August 20. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals after playing against each other in a
round-robin league. This tournament, recognized by Cricket Australia, starts before the start of the Big Bash season. For the Big Bash teams, this tournament has become like a pre-season preparation. The Nepali national team is going to play in Australia for the first time.
This competition has started since 2022. Cricket Australia XI won the first edition by defeating Melbourne Stars Academy in the first edition. In the 2023 final, Northern Territory defeated Pakistan Shaheens by 46 runs. Last year, Adelaide Strikers Academy won the title by defeating Bangladesh HP11 by 32 runs.
