Volleyball is the national sport of Nepal. July 7, World Volleyball Day. In the circular of Nepal Volleyball Association, Volleyball Day is celebrated all over the country. For the first time in the world, Volleyball Day is going to be celebrated officially.
On July 7, 1895, the Federation Internationale Volleyball (FIB) decided to celebrate the day of the first public demonstration of volleyball by William G. Morgan.
FIB hopes the day will help the global volleyball community unite in celebration and encourage players and fans alike to demonstrate how volleyball inspires, unites and empowers, from courts to parks and playgrounds. Jitendra Bahadur Chand, central president of the
Nepal's first large women's volleyball academy run by the private sector in the capital, New Diamond Sports, provided volleyball to various schools along with friendly volleyball. Member Secretary of National Sports Council Tanklal Ghising, President of Volleyball Association Jitendra Bahadur Chand, President of Sports Association Deepak Shrestha, President of Olympian Association Deepak Bista and sports journalists also participated in the friendly match.
On that occasion, students from different schools had a group practice with 150 balls.
