In the final match of the ACC U-16 Eastzone Cup cricket tournament held in Malaysia, Nepal has got a modest target of 114 runs for victory.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Singapore were bowled out for 113 runs in 40.5 overs. Opener Rohan Austin Arun scored the highest 23 runs for Singapore.
He played 84 balls and hit 2 fours. Similarly, while captain Rihan Naik scored 15 runs, Vedansh Gupta scored 12 runs and Akash Teja scored 10 runs. No other batter managed to score runs in double figures.
Abhay Yadav and Shushil Bahadur Rawal of Nepal took 3/3 wickets to cover Singapore cheaply. Shubham Khanal took 2 wickets and captain Bipin Prasad Sharma took 1 wicket.
On Thursday, Nepal defeated Malaysia by 9 wickets in the semi-finals to reach the finals, while Singapore defeated Hong Kong and secured the title clash with Nepal.
Nepal has reached the finals by remaining undefeated in the competition. Singapore was the runner-up from Nepal's group and reached the semi-finals.
Singapore, which was defeated by Nepal in the group stage, confirmed the final match with Nepal by defeating Hong Kong on Thursday. Nepal is the title winner of the previous edition.
