Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 22 honored the national and international players of their ward on Wednesday.
A total of 127 national and international players have been honored in football, cricket, swimming, chess, basketball, kabaddi, bodybuilding, fencing, taekwondo, karate, futsal, snooker, and table tennis. Special honors were given to 28 people who played in international competitions. The winner of the first Mr. Mahanagara Bodybuilding Championship organized by
Ward 22 and in collaboration with Nepal Physical Development and Fitness was given a cash prize. Nepali athletes who won medals in the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding Competition were also honored.
Former Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Chairman of Ward 22 Chinikaji Maharjan honored the physical fitness winners and other athletes by giving certificates and tracksuits. The players to be honored have been selected by the selection team coordinated by former FIFA referee Gyanuraja Shrestha.
Ward 22 has four clubs that have played 'A' division football: Sankata, NRT, Boys Sports and Sundhara.
