The fourth general assembly of the Nepal Olympian Association has continued Deepak Bista as the president. The general meeting held in Chitwan on Sunday elected a 15-member working committee under the leadership of Taekwondo Deepak unopposed.

Praveen Tuladhar of Boxing and Devu Thapa of Judo have been elected as two vice-presidents, Rajendra Bhandari of Athletics as General Secretary, Manita Shrestha Pradhan of Judo as Secretary and Santoshi Shrestha of Athletics as Treasurer. Bishnu Bahadur Singh of Boxing, Mukundahari Shrestha of Athletics, Vimala Ranamgar and Rajkumari Pandey, Tikaram Shrestha of Shooting, Bhagwati KC and Phoolmaya Kapchaki, Prince Dahal of Badminton and Safalram Shrestha of Skiing were elected as members.

The closed session passed the annual and financial report submitted by General Secretary Rajendra Bhandari. It has passed the decision to continue the School to Olympics, a book with details of the Olympians and a reunion program after every Olympics.

Bagmati state government is going to provide monthly allowance to Olympians of the state. The Chief Minister of Bagmati, Bahadur Singh Lama, has announced that a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000 will be provided to Olympians.

Gandaki has been providing a monthly allowance of 5,000 to the Olympians of the province for two years. Sudurpaschim Province has also announced to give allowance to the Olympians of the province.

Anita Shrestha, Sitaram Shahi, Vimala Ranamgar, Bhagwati Khatri, Gyan Bahadur Bohora who participated in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics were honored on that occasion. 1996 Olympian Late Sunil Lal Joshi was honored posthumously.

Chief Minister Lama, Youth and Sports Minister Meenkrishna Maharjan, State Sports Council Bagmati Member Secretary Deepak Lama, Olympian Association President Deepak Bisht honored them.
