Rajan and Santoshi win the Veer Ganeshman Road Race

Rajan Rokaya of Tribhuvan Army Club and Santoshi Shrestha of Dhading won the title of fifth Veer Ganeshman Singh 10 km road race.

On the men's side, Army's Rajan completed the race in 31 minutes and 22 seconds. Army's Khadak Bahadur Khadka came second with a time of 31 minutes 55 seconds, while Mukesh Bahadur Pal took the third place with a time of 32 minutes 12 seconds. Baglung's Tirth again finished fourth and Kenya's Julius Muriuki finished fifth.

On the women's side, Santoshi won the title by completing the race in 38 minutes and 3 seconds. Army Club's Purnalakshmi Neupane took the second place in 39 minutes and 19 seconds and Asha Rawat of APF took the third place in 40 minutes and 27 seconds. Phoolmati Rana of APF finished fourth in 40 minutes 27.01 seconds. The

race started from Adidas Showroom at Darbarmarg and passed through Bhadrakali, Ratnapark, Jamal, Darbarmarg, Kesarmahal, Lainchour, Lajimpat, Maharajganj, Baluwatar, Naxal, Jai Nepal Hall and ended at Darbarmarg. About 550 players participated in the

competition. The winner of both male and female category received Rs 60,000, second runner-up Rs 30,000, third runner-up Rs 15,000, fourth runner-up Rs 10,000 and fifth runner-up Rs 5,000.

The Veer Ganeshman Singh Sports Committee under the Veer Ganeshman Singh Foundation said that about 1.5 million rupees were spent to organize the tournament with the technical support of Nepal Athletics Association. The course record of the

race could not be broken this year either. On the women's side, the course record is 36 minutes 43.2 seconds in the name of Rajpura Pachai and 31 minutes 11.4 seconds in the name of Gopichandra Parki in the men's side.
